My First Pill

Industrial Design

Overview

Introducing My First Pill, a parent-child toolkit designed to shape the first experience of swallowing pills. Unlike existing swallowing aids that fail to address underlying issues driving children's aversion to oral medication, our approach tackles this mental fear head on. Designed to make a child's introduction to pills a positive and confidence-building experience, the My First Pill toolkit takes a gradual, multifaceted approach to addressing this common childhood challenge

Approach

The toolkit's six components work in harmony to create an engaging, relatable experience: 1. Toolkit Box: A vibrant, child-friendly container. 2. Placebo Pill Set: Pills in increasing sizes for hands-on practice. 3. Progress Tracker: A stamp and chart to mark milestones. 4. Storybook: A tale following Sammy the kitten's pill journey. 5. Instruction Guide: Resources for effective toolkit use. 6. Supplemental Pill Marker: Additional practice pills. By blending interactive elements, storytelling, and parental guidance, the My First Pill toolkit transforms a common childhood struggle into an empowering adventure, helping young ones overcome their fears and develop a healthy relationship with taking medication.
